VETTE CORP. CONTINUES RAPID GROWTH; ACQUIRES
SHUN FU METAL PRODUCTS
THERMAL MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS PROVIDER SOLIDIFIES GLOBAL STATUS
Manchester, NH – December 8, 2004December 8, 2004 – Vette Corp., a
global provider of thermal management solutions, today announced its
acquisition of China-based Shun Fu Metal Products. The acquisition
solidifies Vette’s position as a global supplier of heatsinks and
fans for the computer and industrial electronics markets, with extensive
manufacturing, engineering and supply chain logistics. Terms of the
acquisition were not released.
According to Vette’s CEO George Dannecker, “Acquiring Shun Fu gives Vette Corp. a marketleading
position in global thermal management solutions. It builds onto our strong front-end
global sales and supply chain support operations -- expanding our top-tier engineering and
company-owned Asian manufacturing base for fans and heatsinks.
“This was a result of our ongoing efforts to acquire and aggressively partner with cooling
technology companies to provide the highest-efficiency heatsinks and the broadest range of
manufacturing capabilities to ensure the lowest-cost thermal solutions to the electronics market,”
Dannecker concluded.
Vette Corp. recently concluded a Series B round of financing, led by venture capital firm 3i and
included existing investors Kodiak Venture Partners and General Catalyst Partners, bringing
Vette’s total funding to nearly $25 million. The company had stated that the capital would be used
for global expansion.
Thermal Management Continues to Grow
As electronic systems increase in functionality and complexity, heat-related factors have a greater
impact on product development cost and time-to-market. Leading analyst firms expect the
worldwide electronic thermal market to grow by 8.8% annually for the next two years (estimated
at $3.9 billion for 2003) with heat sinks and fans alone representing a $2.2 billion market. Vette's thermal management technologies remove heat that diminishes the performance of electronic
products in an increasingly wide array of industries. Heat dissipation problems in electronic
components and systems increase as more powerful computer chips, increased system integration,
smaller form factors, and more sophisticated power requirements continue to be driven by
consumer demands for a mobile and plugged-in lifestyle.
